Accessibility matters.

Did you know that today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities? This day sets out to recognize the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities while highlighting the importance of inclusion and empowerment.

In light of this important day of recognition, we are reflecting on why accessibility matters, especially in communications.

Swipe through this post to find practical ways you can build it into your own materials.

Post description:
Slide 1: Photo of dim office with a laptop. Text: “Accessibility matters,” with a pop-up menu: Copy, Select All, Read.

Slide 2: Yellow background with bold text: “INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.” Below: “In light of this important day of recognition, we wanted to share why accessibility matters, especially in communications. Swipe through for four ways you can make your content more accessible.”

Slide 3: Soundwave graphic. Text: “01. MULTIPLE FORMATS.” Below: “Provide captions, transcripts and audio descriptions so people can engage in a way that works best for them. When we offer information in more than one format, we empower individuals to participate fully without barriers.”

Slide 4: Hands on a keyboard. Text: “02. ACCESSIBLE LANGUAGE.” Below: “The words we choose shape how people feel. Being thoughtful with what we say isn’t about watering anything down. It’s about making space for everyone to take part in the conversation.”

Slide 5: Magnifying glass graphic. Text: “03. VISIBILITY IS KEY.” Below: “Good communication is easy to see. Use strong contrast, readable fonts and text that’s large enough to follow without strain. Avoid placing text on busy video backgrounds or fast-moving visuals.”

Slide 6: Text box with moving dots. Text: “04. DESCRIBE YOUR CONTENT” Below: “Not everyone experiences visuals the same way. When we describe what is happening on screen, we give more people the chance to stay connected to the story (check out our example in the caption below).”

Client testimonial 🫶

@neneinharmony (Nene Kraneveldt) is a transformative coach and spiritual leader who empowers individuals, particularly Indigenous leaders, to heal from trauma and find balance.

We had the privilege of walking alongside Nene through our thought leadership package, a deeply personalized journey designed to help changemakers realize their own unique offering to the world. Through collaboration, reflection and exploration, Nene reshaped the way she presents herself, her message and her company, ImaginationFX.

The transformation was powerful and Nene captured her experience in a heartfelt testimonial video that we’re honoured to share. Be sure to watch the full video at the link in our bio.

Sharing more from @nazlauriault on being named among @theprnet Marcomms’ Most Influential 2025:

“This recognition reflects our commitment to communications that centre equity, authentic relationship-building and meaningful impact.”

This quote speaks to what drives our team every day. Working alongside communities and organizations while, listening deeply, learning intentionally and ensuring the voices we amplify lead the way.

We are grateful to see these values acknowledged on an international stage and we are energized to continue the hard and heart work ahead.

Content warning: This post includes sensitive themes, including childhood abuse and physical and emotional violence. Please take care while reading.

This month, our founder and managing director, @NazLauriault, has been reflecting on being named on @theprnet Marcomms’ Most Influential 2025 list.

While in New York City to accept the award, Naz found herself thinking less about the honour and more about what leadership requires. Recognition felt meaningful, but it also brought forward the vulnerability behind her own path.

Those reflections shaped this month’s blog post, Breaking the Cycle: How a Violent Childhood Shaped the Life I’m Building Now, a deeply personal piece shared in recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls.
