Today we’re celebrating two incredible milestones!

Three years ago, Stephanie joined us, moving from a contractor to our full-time Account Associate. Since then, she’s grown into our powerhouse Senior Account Associate who proves that the right words can move people and ideas forward.

Sara made the same leap that year, joining us as a full-time Graphic Designer after contracting with the team. Today she’s our Lead Graphic Designer, bringing ideas to life and turning visions into something real every single day.

The past few years have been shaped by the dedication, creativity and heart that both Stephanie and Sara bring to the team. We’re so grateful for everything they do.

At 50th, we believe communications are most powerful when approached with purpose and consideration.

This case study is one example of that work in action. Through culturally responsive storytelling, deep listening and strategy rooted in respect, we partnered with ʕaaḥuusʔatḥ (Ahousaht) First Nation to bring their vision forward and ensure it resonated with the community they serve.

This isn’t just about the final result. It’s about how the work unfolded, what we learned together and how those lessons created meaningful impact.

Join us in welcoming our new team member, Chantal, as our Senior Account Associate! 👏

She’s been an incredible partner to us as a contractor and we couldn’t be happier to now have her as an official member of the 50th Parallel team.

Chantal’s passion, thoughtful approach and positivity have already made such an impact, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

To help everyone get to know her better, we asked Chantal a few fun questions:

Why did you want to join the 50th Parallel team?
I’ve been following the 50th Parallel team and watching their growth since I moved to the Comox Valley in 2020. I was (and still am) drawn to 50th’s work with historically marginalized communities, and am so excited to be joining a woman-owned team that prioritizes sustainability and the environment, and that aligns so closely with my values.

What is your favourite tool to work with?
I love Canva! It’s such a fun and versatile tool. I find it to be so user-friendly, even if you don't have much experience with graphic design, and I can get lost for hours working on projects.

What motivates you?
I have a tattoo with part of a quote from The Lorax that reads, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” It reminds me that I have some control and responsibility in creating positive change. I love knowing that the small pieces of work I contribute to can support something bigger than myself.
