50th Parallel Public Relations is a Certified Living Wage Employer. This means that Living Wage BC has verified that we pay all of our collaborators a living wage as part of our commitment to our community and to building a better, fairer world.
What is a Living Wage
A living wage is the hourly amount someone needs to earn to cover basic expenses, including:
- food
- clothing
- rental housing
- childcare
- transportation
- small savings to cover illness or emergencies
The living wage calculation is currently based on a two-parent family with two children – the most common family unit in B.C. – and each parent working full time. The living wage varies across B.C. based on regional costs.
